A Heartfelt Thank You

Saturday 20th Jun

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated to myself and Rhys. We truly appreciate your support from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity means the world to us, and it drives us forward because raising awareness is key.

Back to Genoa: 1990 to 2026

Saturday 20th Jun
One of the most emotional milestones of the entire cruise was pulling into our very first stop in Genoa on June 14th. This city holds a legendary place in our family history. Dad brought us here all the way back in 1990 for the World Cup, creating memories that we still treasure today. Stepping back onto that same soil as a family—bringing Rhys’s grandad back into the conversation at every corner—made this day profoundly special for all of us.

Lessons from Dad: Live in the Present
If this emotional journey taught us anything, it is a vital lesson about how we live our lives:
• Don't wait: Do not wait for your dreams to just come to you.
• Act now: That perfect future day you are waiting for might never happen.
• Stay present: Live deeply in the present moment.
• Work hard: If you have a dream, work tirelessly to achieve it.

This cruise finally came through for Mum, but it was a dream she and Dad built together for the days after we all grew up.

Walking for a Cause: Our Mediterranean Challenge

Saturday 20th Jun
To honor his memory and keep his spirit central to our journey, Rhys and I took on a dedicated walking challenge at every single port.

We proudly wore our bright yellow T-shirt many times to support the Irish Cancer Society , Raising awareness is absolutely key.

Together, we pushed through a total of 20.01 miles across the Mediterranean. Here is the exact tracker of the miles we conquered in his honor:
• June 14th: 3.10 miles in Genoa
• June 15th: 5.39 miles in Naples
• June 16th: 4.00 miles in Messina
• June 17th: 2.50 miles in Malta
• June 18th: 5.00 miles in Barcelona

Remembering Dad: Laughter, Tears, and Steps in Genoa

Dad was a remarkably generous man, and his family was his entire world. Now
A Dream Fulfilled, A Piece Missing
This year, our family finally took the cruise holiday that was supposed to be Mum and Dad’s ultimate dream when all there childrenwere grown up. After all these years, we made it happen for Mum. While the trip was absolutely fantastic, a massive piece of our hearts was missing. Dad was taken from us far too young. He lived for his family, and we felt his absence every single day. Yet, amidst the tears, there was so much laughter and chats of many happy times he was part of and that memories he gave us to look back on.

☀️ Day 2 Done: Sunshine & Scenic Views!
We crushed Day 2 of our charity walk challenge! It was a beautiful, warm day, so my son and I took the scenic route to soak it all in.
Having the time for a loving, mindful chat and just being completely present with each other has been absolutely amazing. This journey is already getting us to step away from day to day life and be present while supporting an incredible cause.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and cheered us on so far! Your support keeps our feet moving.

Walking for Our Angel: Our June Charity Challenge 👣

Saturday 30th May
Hi all
This June, my son Rhys and I are stepping up for a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts. We are taking on a cancer charity challenge in loving memory of my dad—Rhys’s grandad.
My dad was an amazing man. Tragically, cancer took him far too soon when he was only in his 50s. It breaks my heart that he never got the chance to meet Rhys. I know he would have absolutely adored his grandson, and Rhys would have loved him just as much.
Because my dad always loved his sun holidays, we decided to do something special. We are incorporating our charity walks into our upcoming family holiday. Walking under the sun feels like the perfect way to honor his memory and keep his spirit right there with us.
To my amazing angel dad: you are always loved, never forgotten, and with us every single step of the way.
How You Can Help
We are raising vital funds to fight cancer and support other families. If you are able to donate or share our page, Rhys and I would be incredibly grateful.
