Walking with Purpose: My 12,000 Steps Challenge for the Irish Cancer Society🌼💛

Walking has always been something I’ve loved—whether it’s clearing my head after a long day, exploring new places, or simply enjoying the fresh air. But this March, every step I take will mean so much more. I’m taking on the 12,000 Steps a Day Challenge for the Irish Cancer Society, in memory of my Dad -Niall Brennan.
Why This Challenge Matters to Me?🌼
Cancer is a word no family ever wants to hear, yet in 2015, it became a devastating reality for mine. My Dad was diagnosed with oesophageal (throat) cancer, and after months of battling, he faced another cruel blow—brain cancer. He fought with incredible strength, but in June 2016, we had to say goodbye. Losing him left a void that can never be filled, but his resilience, love, and courage continue to inspire me every day.
That’s why when I came across this challenge, I knew I had to take part. It’s a way for me to honour my Dad’s memory, raise awareness, and support a cause that helps families like mine. Walking has always been a source of comfort for me, and now, with each step, I’ll be walking with purpose.
12,000 Steps a Day – The Goal 🌼💛
The challenge is simple—walk 12,000 steps every day throughout March to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society. Cancer research, patient support, and early detection programs all rely on funding, and every donation makes a difference. By taking on this challenge, I hope to contribute in my own way and encourage others to support this vital cause.
How You Can Help💛
I’d love your support in any way—whether it’s joining the challenge yourself, sharing my journey, or making a donation. Every step I take is dedicated to those battling cancer, those we’ve lost, and the families who need support now more than ever.
If you’d like to donate or follow my progress, you can check out my fundraising page.
