Walking 30 Miles in September for the Irish Cancer Society – In Memory of My Mam, Pauline

Saturday 16th Aug

This September, I’m taking on the Irish Cancer Society’s Walk 30 Miles challenge. For me, this isn’t just about clocking up miles — it’s about honouring the memory of my mam, Pauline, and supporting a cause that is deeply personal.

Cancer has a way of touching so many lives, and sadly, it touched ours. Walking these 30 miles is my way of keeping Mam’s spirit close, remembering her strength, and helping to make sure other families get the support they need during such difficult times.

The Irish Cancer Society provides free care services, emotional support, and funds life-saving research. Their work makes an incredible difference to people across Ireland, and I want to do my part in helping them continue.

Throughout September, I’ll be sharing updates from my walks and reflecting on this journey. Every mile I walk is for Mam, and for all those we’ve lost, those still fighting, and the survivors who give us hope.

If you’d like to support me, please consider donating to my fundraiser page. Every contribution goes directly to the Irish Cancer Society, ensuring that no one has to face cancer alone.

Thank you for your kindness and encouragement as I take on this challenge in memory of Mam. 💛
