With Love, From the Bottom of My Heart

Sunday 30th Mar
Dear readers:

As the March fundraiser comes to a close, I would like to take a moment to thank every one of you.

To the Irish Cancer Society - thank you for this initiative. Coming into exam season, I knew getting 12,000 steps in a day would be beyond challenging. No matter how much I tried, it was clear that there would be days when this target won't be reached and it can be disheartening. Nonetheless, I was certain about my commitment the moment I came across an ad on Daffodil Day. There is no better way to stand in solidarity with those who experienced/know someone with a diagnosis of cancer - a diagnosis that carries so much fear and uncertainty - by contributing to this movement, regardless of the amplitude of my impact.

To the people who shared/viewed/donated - your contribution has been a significant motivator for me. As someone who has witnessed first-hand the impact of a cancer diagnosis, your kind support in my efforts to give back to a community in need has touched me in ways I cannot describe. In addition, at times of physical illness or overwhelming academic responsibilities, your kind messages encouraged me to keep trying day after day.

Whether big or small, I hope my participation enabled me to contribute to the greater good.

Thank you all again for your kindness, this has been an unforgettable and transformative experience. 🤝

Walking the Walk - For Someone Who Showed Me How

Friday 14th Mar
Cancer - something we learn in medical school: the types, the signs, the treatments.

It's not something you truly think of until it touches your life - whether it is your own diagnosis or that of a loved one.

This March, I am taking part in in Daffodil Day - Steps '25 to honour someone very dear to me and raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society. This is a challenge I have set for myself that goes beyond the scope of adopting healthy habits; it is my way of standing in solidarity with those living with a cancer diagnosis or know someone who does.

With 250, up to 8 patients can be transported to and from chemotherapy treatment; with 500, vital clinical equipment can be provided for 10 nurses working out-of-hours at the Irish Cancer Society.

Whether big or small, your support will help fund life-changing and indispensable services to patients when they need it most. I would be incredibly grateful for your support, be it any donation or share of my fundraiser, in my efforts to give back and change lives.

Thank you so much for your kindness - this truly means the world to me. 💛
