Pfizer - Move For Cancer Event Home page + Cycle event pg

I'm fundraising for...

“I am taking part in The Pfizer Ireland Cycle on June 20th and 21st 2025, together with 250 Pfizer colleagues and friends in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. We are taking to the road on a 280+ km two-day journey from Pfizer Grange Castle (Dublin), via Pfizer Newbridge (Kildare) and on to Pfizer Ringaskiddy (Cork).

The purpose of the cycle is to raise awareness of cancer and raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society. All donations will go toward funding life-changing cancer research projects and vital cancer support services and ensure that The Irish Cancer Society can continue to be there for every single person impacted by cancer when they need it most.

The Pfizer Ireland Cycle is part of a larger “Move for Cancer” program during the months of April, May and June 2025 and includes a series of activities across all our Pfizer sites in Ireland. The myriad of events, including running, walking, music gigs, swimming, etc. will culminate with the Pfizer Ireland Cycle on the 20th and 21st June.

We all know someone who has been affected directly or indirectly by Cancer, so it is a cause close to everyone’s heart and I am proud to be part of this journey this year to raise awareness and provide support

Please help me make a difference! Donate today as every contribution, no matter how small, will help cancer patients and their families.”

My Updates

Dublin to cork

Thursday 12th Jun
I didn’t own a bike until this year. I bought one for this event. Not for sport. Not for recreation. But because cancer has deeply affected the people I love, and I needed to do something meaningful in response.

I lost my grandmother to cancer. I also lost my grandfather. My mother, who has survived cancer twice, is currently back in hospital dealing with painful complications from previous surgeries. And for the past two and a half years, my wife’s uncle, a fellow Pfizer colleague has been courageously fighting his own battle with cancer.

This ride is not just an event for me. It is a symbol of hope, of resilience, and of community.

When I started training, I had no cycling experience. My first ride was just 9.4 kilometres. I got sick afterward. But I kept going because I am riding for something much greater than myself.

Every early morning, every sore muscle, every headwind I welcome it. Because I know what real struggle looks like. I’ve seen it in hospital rooms and quiet moments at home. I’ve felt it in conversations no family ever wants to have.

Being named one of Pfizer’s top five fundraisers is humbling. But more than anything, I’m grateful. Grateful to work for a company that not only supports these events but gives people like me the opportunity to share our stories and take action. That kind of culture gives people a voice, and that voice can inspire change, connection, and healing.

To everyone who has supported me, donated, encouraged me, or simply taken the time to listen, thank you. Your kindness has meant more than you know. I will carry it with me through every kilometre.

This is why I ride.
