45000 Steps, one step for every person diagnosed in Ireland each year

This is my 4th time doing this 45000 steps challenge on Daffodil Day and I hope you can get behind me. I’ll be doing this challenge on March 22nd.

Recent stats say roughly 42000 are diagnosed in Ireland each year but I started this challenge in 2021 when the figure was 45000 and I want to keep going that extra mile.

I first decided to do this in March 2021 when my lovely father in law Noel was very sick. You helped me raise a lot of money that year and I am forever grateful for the support you showed.

Unfortunately we lost Noel a few days after that challenge and we all miss him terribly.

I chose not to do a public fundraiser in ‘22 or ‘23, not wanting to ask anyone for money as I know so many others needed donations so I made my own donation instead.

I did however publicise the journey of those gruelling 45000 steps both years on my social media and I even managed to run an unexpected half marathon doing the challenge last year!!

Any money I raise with this challenge will help fund the Irish Cancer Society's Support Line, free counseling, lifts to treatment, ground-breaking cancer research, funding to families facing a childhood cancer diagnosis and so much more.

Thank you for any help you might be able to give.

Grace x
