26.2miles in March

Run 26.2 Miles in March

🌟 I need your support! 🌟

This March, I’m running 26.2 miles over the course of the month in support of the Irish Cancer Society. 🏃‍♂️💚
This one is deeply personal. I lost my father to cancer and close family members to cancer, and I have close family members who have battled — and are still battling — this disease. Cancer touches so many families, and mine is no exception.
I’m running to honour my dad, to support my loved ones, and to help fund vital research and services for those affected.
If you’re in a position to do so, I would be incredibly grateful for any donation, big or small. Every contribution makes a real difference.
Thank you for your support — it truly means the world. 💚

Week 2: 26.2 Miles in March – Challenge Update

Monday 9th Mar
This March I’m taking on the 26.2 Miles in March challenge to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society. The aim is to run a total of 26.2 miles (the distance of a marathon) throughout the month while raising awareness and support for people affected by cancer.
So far the challenge is off to a solid start. I’ve completed 8.82 miles through a few runs, and it feels great to get the miles on the board early in the month.
Runs completed so far:
6 km (3.73 miles)
3.13 km (1.95 miles)
3.15 miles
That brings my total to 8.82 miles out of 26.2 miles completed.
There’s still 17.38 miles left to run, but I’m motivated to keep pushing and reach the full marathon distance before the end of March.
Cancer affects so many people and families, and the Irish Cancer Society provides essential support services, research funding, and care for those going through it. Taking part in this challenge is my way of contributing and helping raise awareness for the work they do.
Thanks to everyone who has supported, encouraged, or followed along so far. Every bit of support really helps keep the motivation going.

26.2 Miles Across March — A Cause Close to My Heart

Wednesday 25th Feb
This March, I’ll be running 26.2 miles over the course of the month in support of the Irish Cancer Society.
I’ve never run a marathon before — and while I won’t be doing the full 26.2 miles in one day, I’ll be completing the entire distance across March. For me, that makes it even more meaningful. Every mile will be intentional. Every run will have purpose.
Why This Matters So Much
Cancer has deeply impacted my life.
I lost my father and uncle to cancer — a loss that changed me forever. I also have close family members who have battled, and are currently battling, this disease. I’ve seen firsthand the strength it takes to fight, the toll it takes on families, and the importance of having support when you need it most.
That’s why I’m taking on this challenge.
I may be new to marathon distance, but I’m not new to understanding why this cause matters.
One Mile at a Time
Throughout March, I’ll be chipping away at the 26.2 miles — early mornings, after work, in all kinds of weather. Some days will feel strong. Others won’t. But every step will be for:
My dad
My family
Everyone affected by cancer
When it feels tough, I’ll remind myself that this challenge is temporary — but the impact of cancer is life-changing.
How You Can Support
If you’re in a position to donate, I would be incredibly grateful. Every euro raised helps fund essential services, research, and support for families facing cancer.
If donating isn’t possible, sharing this post or cheering me on throughout the month would mean the world. Your encouragement will carry me through those miles.
This is my first time taking on 26.2 miles. It’s outside my comfort zone. It’s a challenge. But it’s for something far bigger than me.
Thank you for being part of this journey. 💚
