Retir-O´Run 5km-

Hi there, my name is Davy O’Brien. I’m based in Madrid and, like hundreds of others, I’ve experienced a family loss due to a cancer-related illness—my eldest brother, Sean.

For the past 15 years, my family has organised fundraisers in Ireland through football matches to support the incredible work of the Irish Cancer Society. Now, I’d like to continue that effort by doing something similar in another country—one that might be sunnier, but carries the same spirit of community and support.

--------------------

Join us on the 7th December at 11 a.m in Retiro Park, Madrid, for a 5 km Jog or walk in support of the Irish Cancer Society, and donate to the cause.

Our goal is to bring people together in Madrid together to help raise funds for this important cause. Whether you choose to jog, walk, or simply join us for a coffee afterwards, we’d love to have you there and contribute to the cause.

Please do not worry if you run at a slow pace, or indeed walk at a slow pace, the goal is to be active, chat, laugh and raise money for a great casue.

Additional information will be supplied via the Whatsapp group closer to the time, join the group using the link below or the QR Code above.

My Updates

Update before the Big Retir-O'Run

Saturday 6th Dec
Hi everyone,

***Reposting for the people who may have joined the group of late

------

This Sunday we set off on the big Retir-O'Run! 😁

📍 Meeting point: Plaza de Guatemala (opposite Florida Bar in Retiro) at 11am.

🏁 Finish line: Puerta Felipe (Should arrive for 1145 or so)

------------------------------------

👟After the 5k, If people are available, a bar has been booked just a 5-minute walk from the finish line, called La Taperia del Prado for beer or a coffee afterwards.

-------------------- -------------------- --------------------

No need to worry about your running or walking pace—the goal is to chat, move, laugh, and raise money for a great cause, and have a sneaky drink afterwards.

🗾Tomorrow I will send the route, the plan is to move as a group, but if anyone wants to walk behind or fire ahead you'll know where to go.
