June Walking Challenge

🌟 I need your support! 🌟

I'm taking part in the Walking challenge in June for the Irish Cancer Society. Every donation, big or small, brings me one step closer to my fundraising target and helps cancer patients and their families.

Will you join me in making a difference? 🙌

Together, we can make it happen! 💪

My Updates

30 Days Down

Tuesday 30th Jun
30 days later and that's a wrap for the walking challenge. Chuffed to have completed just over 75 miles or slightly in excess of 121km. Roughly the equivalent distance from Main Street, Longford to The Mater Hospital in Dublin. Over the course of the month, I walked in various locations in Longford, Leitrim, Luxembourg and Roscommon! At times, I saw heavy rain and at times, heavy sun. Most often with the dog, but plenty of times on my own. Grateful to all who donated money to the cause, and I have been reliably informed that the donation page remains open until September. Every little helps, and hopefully the accumulated total across the country can make a difference. The link remains below for anyone who may be interested. Thanks again to everyone for your help.
Thumbs up

4 weeks done

Monday 29th Jun
Week 4 complete, and thankfully I had a bit more free time to spend walking. Clocked up record mileage this week, with 39.7km added on to make a total of 117.1km completed so far, and there's still 2 days to go. I'll get a few more miles done yet before the time is up. This will be the end of the weekly updates but I'll post a few pics on Tuesday when all is completed. Thanks again to all who sponsored monies thus far and thanks in advance to anyone who may still donate.

Third week down

Sunday 21st Jun
Week 3, and another 25.2km completed. My total to date is 77.4km so I have essentially come within touching distance of my original target of 50 miles / 80 km. My intention has always been to go across the threshold so with that in mind, I'm going to expand the magic number out to 60 miles and plough on. As it is a challenge for the month of June, I'll keep going until the last day and I fully expect the final figure to eclipse the target.
Thanks again to all who have donated, and thanks in advance to those who might still chip in before the month is out.

Week 2 done - 52.2km total so far

Monday 15th Jun
Week 2 completed, got the mileage up from last week. 28.9km this time out along with the 23.3km from week 1 giving a total of 52.2km done. Happy with progress. Beyond the halfway point for the target, but I'll just keep walking and hopefully surpass the target of 50miles/80km with some to spare

Week 1 Done

Sunday 7th Jun
23.31km completed
